Colombia Excelso EA Sugar Cane Decaf
This coffee is decaffeinated using the Ethyl Acetate Sugarcane Process. To begin, the green coffee is steamed or soaked to expand the beans, preparing them for caffeine extraction. Once expanded, the beans are soaked in ethyl acetate—a natural byproduct of sugarcane fermentation. The ethyl acetate bonds with the caffeine, drawing it out of the coffee. Afterward, the beans are thoroughly rinsed and dried.
In our experience, this method produces a decaf that’s remarkably close in flavor to its caffeinated counterpart. If you enjoy an evening cup like we do, this coffee is for you.

- Process: Fully washed, EA (sugar cane) decaffeinated
- Tasting Notes: Cherry, lemon, cocoa powder & brown sugar
If you choose to have your decaf coffee pre-ground, please note that we use a single grinder for all coffees. Your decaf will be ground on equipment that also processes caffeinated coffee.
